Flying high together: 20 years of partnership between Seeberger and the DAV

Flying high together: 20 years of partnership between Seeberger and the DAV

A special kind of summit moment: 20 years of partnership between Seeberger and the German Alpine Association (DAV)! What once began with the idea ofstrengtheningmountaineers with nuts and dried fruit along the way is now a close connection of enjoyment, responsibility and sustainability. Together, we have been going upwards step by step for two decades and are still a long way from reaching our goal.

The mountain is calling!

It all started with a small idea and a big portion of snack love: to provide mountain friends with natural snacks. A little energy in your rucksack, a little indulgence on the summit. Thus began the partnership between Seeberger and the DAV 20 years ago, which today is much more than just provisions for the road.

Today, we are united by a strong partnership based on ecological responsibility, sustainability and the goal of enabling enjoyment with a clear conscience.

In the Sustainability Check 2025, in which the DAV evaluates its partners on the basis of ecological, social and economic criteria, we scored top marks. This means our partnership can scale even higher peaks! Or in the words of the DAV: "The partnership will not only be continued, but will be rated as exemplary ."

Four pillars that support our partnership

  1. Circular economy
We are working to close loops. Around 69% of our snack packaging is made from recyclable materials - the target is 100% by 2025. Food loss in our production is less than 1%. Almost as rare as a cloudless summit day.
  2. Supply chain responsibility

  3. Transparency you can taste: over 80% of our nuts and dried fruit can be traced directly back to the producer. Together with suppliers from over 60 countries, we focus on fairness, biodiversity and local value creation. So that enjoyment and responsibility go hand in hand.
  4. Climate protection

  5. We have been drawing up annual emissions balances since 2013. A quarter of the electricity in Ulm already comes from photovoltaics, and our other emissions (Scope 1 and 2) have recently been fully offset. By joining the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), we are pursuing the vision of achieving net zero by 2050.
  6. Community
Our team is at the heart of what we do. With the "ONE Seeberger" program, we promote a value-oriented corporate culture: flexible working models, participation programs and a clear commitment to equal opportunities characterize our working environment.

Sustainability Check 2025: The DAV says "Yes!"

The DAV's sustainability check gave us top marks in all areas: ecological, social and economic. One tip: an even greater proportion of organic and regional products would suit us well. We know that: We are not perfect yet. But we are keeping at it and it is precisely this transparent, self-critical attitude and willingness to continuously develop ourselves that the DAV appreciates.

Conclusion: sustainability with a pleasure factor

20 years of pulling together - and we are still a long way from reaching the summit. The next stages: further innovations in packaging, more climate-friendly logistics, even more transparency in the supply chain. And of course: lots of shared moments of enjoyment in the mountains, in everyday life or with a snack in between.

Enjoyment with a clear conscience, now and for the next 20 years.
