"My body feels too good to retire."

"My body feels too good to retire."

When Thomas Müller said at his presentation in Vancouver: "My body feels, even in my stage of my career, too good to retire," it was immediately clear to us that he was far from thinking about retiring. He tells us: at 35, he feels fitter than ever, and that's not just down to his experience on the pitch, but also his habits off it.

Nutrition as the key to performance

We know how important natural nutrition is for energy and well-being, and Thomas is an impressive example of this. But what's really behind this "too good to retire" feeling? Thomas likes to emphasize that training alone is not enough. "As a competitive athlete, I make sure I give my body all the nutrients it needs: proteins, carbohydrates, healthy fats, the whole range." There is a simple truth behind this: if you want to stay fit in the long term, you have to pay attention to your diet.

A handful of nuts every day - for Thomas, that's completely normal, whether in training or in everyday life. Sometimes he reaches for almonds, sometimes cashews, sometimes a nut mix. Dried fruit, on the other hand, naturally contains sugar and provides him with calories when he needs to eat quickly. This keeps the snack breaks varied.

Dear Thomas, you are exactly right. This is also shown by a recommendation from the German Nutrition Society, which advises: "Enjoy a small handful of nuts or seeds (about 25 g) every day."

Small helpers, big impact

What works in professional soccer also works in the office, on the way to work, on the padel court or after work. Especially when Thomas is on the road - which he is now frequently between Vancouver and Munich - the snacks are super handy. There are over 8,000 kilometers and a nine-hour time difference between work and home. Who hasn't experienced it? Traveling is exhausting, lack of sleep, time stress, hunger! It's easy to lose sight of the good nutrition you had planned so much at the start of the year. This is exactly when healthy snacks show what they are made of: they are a valuable source of regeneration, focus and balance.

Thomas Müller makes it 1:0

"It's often stressful and hectic on the road, but with the right snacks I always have a little boost with me. They help me to stay focused, relax and simply feel balanced, no matter where I am. For me, this is simply part of a successful everyday life."
