Talking About Sustainability Is Silver, Acting Sustainably Is Gold.
Speaking Of The Future
We are working on so many topics that are now forward-looking: production conditions, work organization, company philosophy – all with a focus on sustainable environmental and social standards. And we’ve always been thinking about the future – after all, we’ve been around for over 175 years. That’s why, for example, we are currently working on packaging suitable for grandchildren that is made from recycled plastic. In doing so, we are creating conditions that allow us to look in only one direction: forwards.
Yummy On The Inside, Yeah On The Outside
Today’s packaging mixes sustainable materials with resource efficiency. We want to get there too: By 2025, we will save up to 20 % on materials and reduce our food waste to less than 1 %. To achieve this, we have been packaging our products with recyclable mono-layer film since 2020, reducing the size of our zip bags and reducing the use of materials wherever possible. Since fall 2022, we have already been using 30 % recycled material – so-called recyclates – in 15 of our snack bags. And that’s not all: we have now adapted the packaging of almost 70 % of our range to be environmentally friendly. And don’t worry: your snacks will stay fresh in them for just as long as before. Because we continue to only use raw materials that guarantee a safe shelf life. This way, we don’t end up paying for saving plastic with food waste. Find out exactly what our new packaging and the circular economy are all about.
Colder Is Cooler
Climate protection concerns us all. And as a responsible company, it certainly does not leave us indifferent. That is why we are reducing our emissions as far as possible and offsetting unavoidable climate-damaging gases by financing renewable projects. By 2025, our main site in Ulm will emit 10 % less CO2 than in the base year 2019. And the Seeberger vision goes much further: climate neutrality along the entire value chain. We are working on this – every day. Find out more about climate protection at Seeberger.
